Coaching sessions serve as a consistent source of support and guidance, as well as mutually agreed upon accountability checkpoints. Depending on your project, we may brainstorm a comprehensive outline, develop the narrative, sharpen themes, affirm strengths, identify gaps or weaknesses, workshop the writing, and/or set attainable goals.

ALEXA JOHANSEN
Your potential writing coach and/or editor!
Alexa Johansen, Ph.D., was a professor of rhetoric at Loyola Marymount University, a professor of composition at Life Pacific University, and a professor of writing at Azusa Pacific University. She oversaw a First-Year Seminar curriculum on critical thinking, which quickly gained a standing among the Top 20 (out of Top 100) rankings in the US News and World Report in 2018.

Alexa received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Literature and Creative Writing. She received her Doctorate in Higher Education, with an emphasis on student success for historically underrepresented student populations.
​
Beyond her teaching experience and scholarship, Alexa is passionate about partnering with creatives to support their strengths, elevate their work, and attain their goals. Alexa is highly relational, which translates to an encouraging coach; and, she is keen on details, making her a thorough and well-equipped editor.
